Surrounded by Drugs
We are surrounded by drugs: alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, cocaine, heroine, pain pills, etc. What happens when society tries to control them? We’ve heard all the negatives, read all the countering arguments and have arrived at some personal, emotional conclusion; but do we know what harm is done in making them illegal? What verifiable medical facts are a consideration? Is comprehensive, data-driven information available to support conclusions? We’ll examine the facts and the data behind them with Dr. Herbert Kaufman, an internationally-known and recognized expert in the field of Pharmacology, when he leads us in a discussion between 3:00 and 4:30 in USFSM’s Selby Auditorium.
(Dr. Kaufman brings a little levity to this concerning and serious topic with a short musical interlude of “The Old Dope Peddler” …. who spreads joy wherever he goes, and a short movie clip from the movie “Reefer Madness.”)
Join us for the first Einstein’s Circle of the Winter Season: Wed., Jan. 20th – 3:00 to 4:30 pm — USFSM’s Selby Auditorium
