ATTORNEY PAUL ROSEN, an instructor in Constitutional Law at RCLLA, was an advocate and exponent of the right to due process. We pay tribute to him with this Einstein’s Circle debate in his memory.

It all started five years ago when a same-sex couple entered a bakery and asked for a cake to celebrate their upcoming wedding. On the basis of his Christian beliefs, the baker refused the request, and the couple took him to court. The case was argued before the Supreme Court on Dec. 5, 2017. At issue are free speech, religious rights, and same-sex marriage.

At the conclusion of the arguments, the Justices appeared to be divided, with a final decision expected in June 2018.

Moderator: Barry Waldman
In Support of the Baker’s Rights: Robert A. Levy
In Support of the Rights of the Same-Sex Couple: William H. Goodman

This Einstein’s Circle is free and open to the public. Paid for by Friends of Paul Rosen. To pre-register, call 941-309-5111; or online at https://reg131.imperisoft.com/LLA/Search/Registration.aspx
