September 25 @ 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM

AMISH AND MENNONITES: THEIR PLACE IN THE 21ST CENTURY

Tuesday, Sept. 25 • 1-2 p.m.
WESTMINSTER POINT PLEASANT
J. David Yoder

There are significant changes taking place in the Amish and Mennonite communities these days. In this lecture, we will discuss some of these issues, plus answer the often-asked question: Are Mennonites and Amish the same? We’ll also learn why they use those three-wheeled bikes, why women wear those little white caps all the time, what’s behind the way the Amish dress and look, and do they use electricity? Join us and find out how these communities are coping in the 21st century.

Lectures sponsored by Westminster Point Pleasant are free and open to the public. Pre-registration is required for the general public. To register, call 941-309-5111; or go online to www.olliatringlingcollege.org
