Sarasota is truly the capital of the arts scene of the “Culture Coast” of Florida. In this class, you will explore its rich artistic heritage through historical class discussions and field trips. Our trips include the Ringling Museum (learn about the Museum and John Ringling’s vision for Sarasota), Ringling College of Art and Design, and the artist colony Towles Court. We will also take backstage tours of the Sarasota Ballet, the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall to view its extensive art collection, and the Palm Avenue galleries.

NOTE: Some of our explorations may require entrance fees that are not covered by the course fee; class time may be adjusted to accommodate the schedule of the Sarasota Ballet, Van Wezel, and Palm Avenue galleries.
Course Fee: $95; Member Fee: $85.50.
