SARASOTA — Two years ago, following the successful completion of a $22 million capital and endowment campaign, there was a furious surge of activity at the former Sarasota High School.
Workers installed a new roof and windows, stripped the interior down to the studs and carted away truckloads of debris from the deteriorating structure on South Tamiami Trail in anticipation of its renaissance as the new “Sarasota Museum of Art,” scheduled to open in early 2016.
