Phillip Buck has taught literature at California State University, the University of Colorado (Boulder). Regis University (Denver) and, more recently, at Pierian Spring Academy, Sarasota. He was academic dean at Front Range College (CO) from 1987 to 2004. His present area of research is Realism and Naturalism in American Literature.

Osher Lifetime Learning Institute at Ringling College (OLLI) is a division of Ringling College of Art and Design. OLLI operates year-round and is supported through student registrations and private contributions. OLLI courses are non-credit and primarily based on a liberal arts curriculum. There are no grades and no tests; courses are offered purely for the joy of learning. Students may attend classes at any of our locations, participate in Academy Talks, Einstein’s Circle discussion groups, and attend lectures and special events. Tuition varies depending upon course length.
