    Richard Gelpke has a doctorate in law and policy from Northeastern University (Boston). He worked in the Department of Geography and Earth Science at the University of Massachusetts (Boston) for more than 20 years. His areas of interest include historical and physical geography, environmental issues, and mapping.

    Osher Lifetime Learning Institute at Ringling College (OLLI) is a division of Ringling College of Art and Design. OLLI operates year-round and is supported through student registrations and private contributions. OLLI courses are non-credit and primarily based on a liberal arts curriculum. There are no grades and no tests; courses are offered purely for the joy of learning. Students may attend classes at any of our locations, participate in Academy Talks, Einstein’s Circle discussion groups, and attend lectures and special events. Tuition varies depending upon course length.
