    Rob Kirby received a B.A. in English from Oberlin College (Ohio)
    and a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University
    (Illinois). Having first taught English in the Galápagos Islands, he transitioned to magazine publishing and now writes nonfiction articles for magazines and websites, primarily focusing on sports and politics.

    Osher Lifetime Learning Institute at Ringling College (OLLI) is a division of Ringling College of Art and Design. OLLI operates year-round and is supported through student registrations and private contributions. OLLI courses are non-credit and primarily based on a liberal arts curriculum. There are no grades and no tests; courses are offered purely for the joy of learning. Students may attend classes at any of our locations, participate in Academy Talks, Einstein’s Circle discussion groups, and attend lectures and special events. Tuition varies depending upon course length.
