    James Larson holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Columbia University (NY) and completed work toward his doctorate (all but dissertation). He was a professor and director of the Honors Program at the University of Toledo (OH), and the founder of Toledo’s City Historic District Commission. He is a retired professor of English at Bowling Green State University (KY). He was a Fulbright professor in Belgium.

    Osher Lifetime Learning Institute at Ringling College (OLLI) is a division of Ringling College of Art and Design. OLLI operates year-round and is supported through student registrations and private contributions. OLLI courses are non-credit and primarily based on a liberal arts curriculum. There are no grades and no tests; courses are offered purely for the joy of learning. Students may attend classes at any of our locations, participate in Academy Talks, Einstein’s Circle discussion groups, and attend lectures and special events. Tuition varies depending upon course length.
