    Maurice Pickard is a retired internist who did his residency at the University of Illinois and the University of California San Francisco. He was in private practice for 35 years and was a Fellow in Clinical Medical Ethics at the University of Chicago. He is currently a member of the ethics committee at several medical institutions and hosts a medical blog and podcast at ReachMD.co

    Osher Lifetime Learning Institute at Ringling College (OLLI) is a division of Ringling College of Art and Design. OLLI operates year-round and is supported through student registrations and private contributions. OLLI courses are non-credit and primarily based on a liberal arts curriculum. There are no grades and no tests; courses are offered purely for the joy of learning. Students may attend classes at any of our locations, participate in Academy Talks, Einstein’s Circle discussion groups, and attend lectures and special events. Tuition varies depending upon course length.
